Anthropic Launches Claude Duet With 6,000 Integrations

The new business-focused agent uses the Opus 5.5 model to automate workflows while maintaining strict boundaries on financial transactions.

By Imani Brooks ·

Anthropic has officially introduced Claude Duet, a new application designed to compete in the rapidly expanding market of AI productivity tools. The launch positions the company against a growing roster of rivals, including Meta Muse, OpenAI Dots, Hark, Instinct, Grok Bot, and Fo. By entering this crowded space, Anthropic aims to capture user attention with a tool specifically tailored for professional environments rather than casual personal use.

The primary distinction of Claude Duet is its focus on professionals and small businesses seeking to automate and manage complex tasks. The company has explicitly differentiated Duet from personal agents like Instinct by clarifying that it is not optimized for handling simple errands or booking tickets. Furthermore, unlike some competitors, Duet does not provide a live visual display of its browser usage as it operates, prioritizing background efficiency over visible interaction.

Instead of performing basic chores, Duet is engineered to construct daily briefings, generate data dashboards, and propose strategic actions based on user information. Similar to other autonomous agents, it executes tasks in the background using its own virtual machine. This allows users to continue with their other work while the agent processes requests, returning only when specific approval is required to proceed.

The release coincides with a broader industry shift from simple assistants to agents capable of acting on a user's behalf. Many of Anthropic’s competitors are increasingly targeting business use cases. For instance, while Meta’s Muse serves as a personal assistant, the company has also rolled out a version for small businesses that integrates with other applications. Similarly, OpenAI’s Dots maintains a business orientation through its integration with various professional tools.

Claude Duet operates on the Claude Opus 5.5 model and is designed to proactively deliver recommendations while monitoring ongoing workflows. A key feature of the platform is its extensive connectivity, allowing it to interface with more than 6,000 connectors and plug-ins available in the Claude Marketplace. This broad integration capability is central to its value proposition for enterprise users.

The agent also possesses the ability to execute online purchases on behalf of users. It utilizes Stripe’s Link digital wallet or Shopify’s Shop Pay to complete these transactions. However, Anthropic has established clear boundaries regarding financial authority; while sensitive steps like payments require explicit user approval, Duet will not trade securities or transfer funds between different accounts.

To address security concerns, Anthropic has introduced a new classifier that scrutinizes each message to prevent the leakage of sensitive data. By default, the system is programmed to decline requests that ask for credit card numbers or government identification documents, adding an extra layer of privacy protection for users.

Claude Duet is currently available in research preview for Pro and Max customers. Access is provided through apps on iOS and Android, as well as via the web interface at Claude.ai. Due to its preview status, interested users must join a waitlist to gain access to the platform and test its capabilities.

As the market continues to evolve, the success of Duet will likely depend on its ability to maintain trust through its conservative approach to financial actions and its robust privacy measures. The waitlist model suggests that Anthropic is managing capacity carefully while it refines the agent’s performance in real-world professional settings.
